Anime Spotlight : Promising New Shows From Summer 2015 Anime Season

The 2015 Summer Anime season is in full swing with most of the shows on their 3rd episode already. Which means it's time to see which are the most promising of the NEW shows this season. Yes this excludes sequels ;).

Gakkou Gurashi!

Synopsis : Takeya Yuki is in love with the school. For her, it's a wonderful place, where she enjoys her school activities, especially the activities of her club: School Life Club. The club has Rii-chan as the president, Kurumi-chan as another member, and the teacher, Megu-nee, always there for them. Yes, she is in love with her school... on her mind. Because, for her, the reality of the school and their club's activities is way too hard to be perceived...
Thoughts : Gakkou Gurashi! or School-Live, many would be mistaken for thinking initially it's just another cute girls doing cute things show. but the truth of the matter is far different. Gakkou Gurashi! tells the tale of how a young girls mind goes a very far way to protect her from the harsh reality of living in a zombie apocalypse. I wonder if this show will have a happy end...

Shimoneta to Iu Gainen ga Sonzai Shinai Taikutsu na Sekai

Synopsis : 16 years after the Law for Public Order and Morals in Healthy Child-Raising banned coarse language in the country, Tanukichi Okuma enrolls in the country's leading elite public morals school and is soon invited into the Anti-Societal Organization (SOX) by its founder, Ayame Kajou. As a member blackmailed into joining by Ayame, Tanukichi ends up taking part in obscene acts of terrorism against the talented student council president Anna Nishikinomiya, whom Tanukichi has a crush on.
Thoughts : Shimoneta, fuck typing out that long title everytime, is a fun comedy in a futuristic Japan that reminds me of Equilibrium, the movie not the epic metal band, in which everything remotely lewd and sexy has been banned. The show so far has had me laughing till my sides hurt. A must see for anyone looking for a comedy to enjoy..

Aoharu x Kikanjuu

Synopsis : The story follows high school student Tachibana Hotaru, a girl disguised as a boy. Through strange circumstances she finds herself drawn into the world of survival games by a host, Matsuoka Masamune. The two form a team with ero-manga artist Yukimura Tooru and aim to become the best in Japan.
Thoughts : Aoharu x Kikanjuu reminds me a lot of Ouran Highschool host Club and Kaichou wa Maid-sama! But this time in the world of "survival games" or airsoft battles. First few episodes have been quite enjoyable so far and I am curious to see how long she can keep her secret of being a girl.

Gate: Jieitai Kanochi nite, Kaku Tatakaeri

Synopsis : A gate appears in Tokyo's Ginza district sometime in the 21st century. From the gate pour out monsters, knights from middle-age Europe and other fantasy-like beings, and they kill many citizens of Tokyo. This event is known as the Ginza Incident. The government sends a small group of soldiers from the Japanese Self-Defense Forces to the alternate world beyond the gate. Led by otaku soldier Itami Youji, they find that the villages in the world are being attacked by a dragon. An elf girl who is a survivor from the dragon's rampage joins the group in their travels across the dangerous new world.
Thoughts : GATE, uses a well known premise in the anime industry, namely alternate worlds/dimensions, but instead of one or a few characters being sent over as the "chosen". It involves a bit more expected happenings of invasions by both sides. The battles themselves aren't overly gory and pacing seems to be good. Hopefully the show will continue to impress as it progresses.

I most probably missed your fave shows of the season, so let me know what they are and why you enjoy them so much! Happy Anime Watching!
